I tried making dosas with the Kaulige Foods’ Multi Millet Dosa Mix and the dosas came out super nice and crispy (especially on my new cast iron dosa tawa) and the best part is, preparing just takes 2 minutes – this is the easiest dosa recipe ever!

I got the cast iron tawa from city market (Bangalore) and it is just the thing to make yummy crispy dosas. To season it, I wiped the pan with oil, heated it till it smoked, let it cool and repeat – 5 times at least and then used it. Rinse and dry it after use everytime and don’t scrub it hard. Now its perfect and better than any non-stick I have had.

I had the dosas with some leftover fried Ivy Gourd and mom’s chutney powder and enjoyed them utterly.

Ingredients
Servings: dosas
Instructions
  1. Pour the Dosa mix, curd and the water in a bowl and mix very well. There should be no lumps in the dosa mix
  2. Cover the bowl and let it stay for 8-10 hours
  3. The batter will not rise much, but you should be able to smell the sourness. Now add salt to taste (I added around 1 tsp)
  4. Heat the tawa, put little bit of oil and pour the batter gently onto the tawa. Once the edges rise from the tawa, flip the dosa. It might help if you have a lid for the tawa, but its not needed.

  5. Remove the dosa from the tawa and serve hot with chutney or chutney powder.
